Bread Friends,
As we all adjust to the new normal under quarantine, Bread for the World – Indiana is dreaming up new ways to stay engaged. We are reaching out to our state-wide leaders and hatching all kinds of new plans. Among them is a new plan for the Offering of Letters.
We REPLACED our in-person Joint Offering of Letters Workshop on March 21 with a Webinar, attended by about 50 viewers. The beautiful thing about Webinars is we can record them. So, please find a recording of that event here. The slides we used can be downloaded as a pdf here.
In summary of that video:
It’s time for Bread to Rise!
In the face of this pandemic, we realize even more how important our work is to advocate for vulnerable people. So, we have set new goals for our Offering of Letters in 2020. We aim to:
We encourage you to stay home. Follow the directives of the CDC. Use this opportunity to advocate for the vulnerable communities among us who will be hardest hit by the Coronavirus.

In summary of that video:
- Immediately, we are watching Congress’s actions related to COVID-19 Relief packages. We know that vulnerable people at home and abroad are being hit the hardest by this pandemic. Congress needs to hear from us more immediately than ever. You can sign up for action alerts at www.bread.org (at the very top of the main page, find a box that invites you to sign up.) We can remind our representatives that vulnerable communities need special attention in this pandemic.
- Next, we are re-imagining our Offering of Letters as a “do-it-at-home” opportunity. The beauty of this approach is that we can all shelter at home; yet still make an impact. As always, materials can be found at www.bread.org/ol. To get on our list to be notified of Bread-Indiana updates, sign up here.
