How to HelpPray. Food is a basic need, and it is unjust that so many people go without enough to eat. Prayer equips us to take faith-grounded advocacy actions. Bread can help you make prayers to end hunger part of your regular prayer life. We can send you prayer suggestions every two weeks by email or send resources about your neighbors who might live next door or around the world who need your prayers. Contact Congress. Everyone—including our government—must do their part to end hunger. With the stroke of a pen, policies are made that affect millions of lives. Make your voice heard and speak up for the needs of hungry and poor people. Attend an Event. Join like-minded peers and experienced hunger advocates in this beginners class on the causes of hunger and practical skills for changing the systems around it. Come willing to learn and leave with the skills and best practices needed in making systems change! Held 2-3 times annually; sign up by emailing course facilitator Dave Miner. Connect with Others. When we turn our faith into action, God uses our voices. When we team up with others to do so, our joined voices become real solutions for those struggling with hunger and poverty. Donate. For every dollar you give to Bread for the World, you help win more than $100 in federal government assistance for hungry and poor people in the U.S. and around the world. Your gift is an affirmation of our shared commitment to persuade our nation’s leaders to provide adequate food and nutrition so that people most in need might receive the gift of hope and life. |
