On August 31st, you are invited to join Food Finders Food Bank and Lafayette Urban Ministry (LUM) for a public screening of The Working Hungry at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. This event will begin with a 30-minute documentary examining the root causes of food insecurity in Indiana. The screening will take place from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm, followed by a panel discussion with local leaders and information about how to join us in advocating for the passage of a strong, bipartisan Farm Bill.
LUM’s Executive Director, Wes Tillett, reflects on his experience watching the film: “The documentary moves 'hungry people' from an abstract concept in my mind to the concrete reality of my Hoosier neighbors who are gainfully employed and yet are still struggling to be nutritionally secure. Hunger isn't just 'over there' somewhere. It's right here.”
